As alumni, you are an integral part of our Fraternity’s rich history and legacy. Your contributions to the organization have helped us grow and thrive, and we are grateful for your ongoing support. This past year the Zeta Alumni Group (ZAG) held several events and we look forward to making these annual traditions.
In October we had a cleanup day, where we shampooed the carpeting on the first floor and painted the hallways (and the floor, oops). We also performed some general outside clean-up, especially in the back yard.
Butler’s Homecoming is also a highlight for our chapter, and is an open house, put on by the undergrads. We always look forward to welcoming alumni back to campus and showing them what we’ve been up to since their time as active members. We have a variety of events planned, including a tailgate before the game, going as a group to watch the football game, and hanging out back at the house after the game. We hope to see you there!
In January we gathered to cheer on the Dawgs and then headed to the newly reopened Bulldog Lounge to rehash the game. We have done this annually for several years and we expect that next year we will get together again to bask in the glow of a Butler victory. Information on this will be sent out once the schedules are published.
An upcoming event that we have scheduled is Symphony on the Prairie followed by a golf outing the next morning. For this year we have picked the Face2Face tribute night (Billy Joel & Elton John tribute band) at 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 29 at Conner Prairie. Brothers (and guests) are invited to meet up on the lawn and enjoy the music and fellowship. We have tentatively penciled in a golf outing at Sahms on Sunday. Last year we followed the golf with a group dinner. It is always a fun weekend where we get to enjoy some beautiful music and spend time together out on the course. We hope you’ll join us for this exciting event.
Lastly, I want to emphasize the importance of staying involved in the Fraternity even after graduation. As an alumnus, you have a wealth of knowledge and experience that can be invaluable to current members. We encourage you to consider becoming a mentor or offering your guidance to the younger brothers.
We hope that we have given you a glimpse into the exciting activities and events from this past year and what we have planned in the year ahead. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events and staying connected with you as part of our lifelong brotherhood. Check the chapter website for announcements at www.butlerphipsi.org.
