The Indiana Zeta Chapter and its brothers are back on campus and ready to tackle the new semester and chase after the success we had last year. The brothers have been starting to help with service opportunities and giving back to the Butler community through B.I.T.S service events. We planned to host one of our first major philanthropy events of the year, called the “Run for the SON,” a 5k charity run event taking place on campus benefitting the SON Foundation. The brothers made lots of preparations for the run, including setting up yard signs to direct runners along the course and positioning water coolers at the finish line. Brothers were even stationed at various points around the route, ready to cheer on and encourage the runners, but due to bad weather, we unfortunately had to cancel the run.
However, we’re adapting our fundraising efforts, planning a hot chocolate and donut sale at the Atherton Student Union Gazebo to continue supporting the SON Foundation! Looking ahead, the brotherhood is excited about our upcoming recruitment event. We’re inviting potential new members and freshmen interested in rushing to join us for an evening of pizza, poker, and other card games. This event will be an excellent opportunity for prospective members to get to know our brotherhood in a relaxed and fun setting. We’re also pleased to report that we already have a solid group of guys who have shown interest in the house and have been regularly attending our events. These are just the first of many events that we will be participating and hosting throughout the year, and the chapter is excited to share with the Butler community what being a Phi Psi is all about!
