Confidence in the Next Generation

The Future of Indiana Zeta

As I sit here reflecting back to Homecoming, I enjoyed seeing alumni from the past 50+ years and sharing old (sometimes very old) memories. But it also gave me great pride to introduce the older guys to the newest brothers – those who have been initiated since the rechartering back in the summer of 2022.

I’m often asked what I feel about the current chapter, and I’ve often replied “Confidence.”

I’m confident that they have the men in place to set a positive, successful course for the “new” chapter.
I’m confident that they’re learning what the brotherhood is about and how it can impact their lives.
I’m confident in a future that matches what so many of us have experienced at Indiana Zeta.

But I also reply “confidence” because that’s what I see in the undergraduates.

They have confidence in running the chapter.
They have confidence in where they’ve been and where they want to be.
They have confidence in themselves, their future and the brotherhood.

The new chapter is young, but I already see so many of the traits that were instilled in Indiana Zeta from the early 1970s: a constant focus on academics, an excitement about participating on campus, a willingness to respond as brothers to each other and to the Fraternity.

If you get the chance, take the opportunity to meet our current undergrads. I’m sure it will fill you with confidence and make you proud to be a brother.
