When did you graduate from Butler? I moved to Indianapolis in 1994 to attend Butler and graduated in 1998. I majored in history with a concentration in military history and foreign policy. I worked for the Butler Police as a student for four years. I patrolled the campus, helped detectives, and did computer work for them, including installing the first laptops in university squad cars in the state of Indiana in 1997.

What do you do for work? Because of my aptitude for technology and building PCs now for 30 years, I have been an IT consultant, IT network admin, or in IT management since 1998 and have worked for small and large corporations in many vertical markets. Since 2016, I have owned an IT consulting firm called Solvonex that specializes in hardware/ software sales, managed IT services, and cyber security. We work with small business to enterprise and education K-12/college. When it comes to IT infrastructure, that is our specialty: Networks, WIFI design, servers, cloud, data cabling, assessments, planning, and execution.

Do you have a family? I have three sons: Logan 22, Ian 19, and Luke 15. Logan is a graduating Creative Media Major at Butler this May. He is an aspiring author and film maker. Logan is looking to enter the creative writing graduate program at Butler but is also very adept at technology support. Ian is a freshman at Butler and is also a Creative Media Major. Ian takes flying lessons and wants to be a pilot. Guitar and cinematography are two of his interests. Ian is also the captain of the Call of Duty eSports Academy Team and will be the Varsity Team Captain next year at Butler. Logan and Ian both work with my company, Solvonex, as IT support techs now and will be working with me on a new venture for creative media and content in the days to come. We hope to bring Butler students in as interns and provide project opportunities for them in the future.

Why did you decide to help out with Phi Psi, or what do you want to accomplish with Phi Psi? I hope to bring my years of business, construction, budget planning, and IT experience to the House Corps to help our chapter house become the best it can be. I recognize that we have to compete with the other fraternities at Butler. That has always been the case, but I hope to learn about the chapter’s needs and help the team achieve realistic goals over time. Having two college-age sons on campus continuously gives me good insight as a parent, alumni member, and Phi Psi brother. I am thrilled to bring any additional insight to the team that I can and appreciate the opportunity to serve on the board.”
